Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific has announced the appointments of Augustus Tang as Chief Executive Officer and Ronald Lam as Chief Customer and Commercial Officer.  The Board of Directors believes that it is the right time for new leadership to take Cathay Pacific forward and that Augustus Tang and Ronald Lam, both of whom are highly experienced executives with long careers at Cathay Pacific, are ideally suited to lead the company.

 

Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotels and Residences

Grand Hyatt Mumbai has appointed Swiss national, hospitality industry veteran and a professionally trained chef and sommelier, Chris K. Franzen as their new General Manager and Area Vice President for Western India. Prior to his appointment in India, he worked for six and a half years as GM at the luxurious Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel & Villas in Qatar. He has worked with the Hyatt group for over two decades. Besides his role as GM for the Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel & Residences, he will also be responsible for Operations for all Hyatt hotels in Western India in his role as Area Vice President for West India.

Make My Trip

MakeMyTrip Limited has announced the appointment of Sunil Suresh as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for MakeMyTrip and Goibibo. Previously, Suresh was the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Capillary Tech for two years and was responsible for driving growth and profits through the strategic transformation of the company. Prior to that, he held the positions of Chief Digital Officer and Chief Marketing Officer at Yum! Brands (Pizza Hut) wherein he led teams for six-plus years delivering growth in the Middle East, Africa, Pakistan and Turkey.  Suresh is a graduate from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and holds post-graduate diploma from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow batch of 2000.

STAAH

Ravi Chhabria joins STAAH board as the Director (India) & Head of People and Culture for the STAAH group worldwide. Chhabria comes armed with 25 years of experience in General Management, Banking & Financial services and Human Resource function and will be responsible for overall operations of STAAH India, including banking, financial reporting, legal & compliance, HR and organization design. In his People and Culture role, Chhabria will work with regional and functional managers globally to enhance STAAH’s HR practices and procedures.

 

 Sabre

Sabre Corporation has appointed Aditya Varma as a regional director for Sabre Travel Network Middle East (STNME) based in the region’s headquarters in Bahrain. Aditya will lead the sales operations and customer relationships for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar, key growth countries for Sabre in the Middle East.  He is tasked with managing customer relationships, as well as identifying and executing commercial and new sales opportunities to help accelerate growth in the region.
