Skyscanner launches Road Trips, new beta travel planner

Skyscanner’s booking services personalised engine for sightseeing and activities signed a deal with Inspirock, the personalised itinerary platform.

Including optimal routes, hotels, car rentals and an enjoyment itinerary, the travellers can plan their perfect road trip. Presently, domestic travel searches make up 43 per cent of global searches on Skyscanner.

With popular flight booking services, the travel marketplace planned to meet the growing demands of the trip and travel options of the travellers within their own countries.

The company turned to Inspirock to influence its influential algorithms and matchless reach in over 80,000 destinations worldwide. It enabled personalised itineraries for travellers based on their unique interests, destination and trip duration, time of the year and other significant features.

‘As travel starts to return, people are longing to search new places and favourite destinations once again,’ informed Paul Cumins, head, car hire at Skyscanner.

‘While we are already seeing air travel pick up more impetus, many opting for driving holidays, stimulating the adventurous spirit of the road trip and discovering or rediscovering places closer to home,’ added he.

Road Trips is presently live as a beta and accessible on the Skyscanner platform in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Ireland.
