Post Covid-19: Ministry soars plan, help wellness tourism

The Draft National Strategy and Roadmap for Development of Rural Tourism in India strives to promote local products through tourism. It helps to generate income and jobs in rural areas and authorize local communities as well.

To boost the tourism sector, post-coronavirus pandemic era, the Ministry of Tourism has recently released three strategies drafted with roadmaps. It promotes India as a rural and medical tourism destination and position it as a home for conferences, meetings and exhibitions.

The draft reveals, to help in reducing the migration from rural areas, lessening poverty and sustainable development.

The Draft National Strategy and Roadmap for Medical and Wellness Tourism’s second proposalseeks to promote India as an available and reasonable destination for medical treatments and wellness courses.

The key drivers for growth of medical and wellness tourism are mainly affordability and accessibility of good healthcare services, easing around hospitality services, negligible waiting time, availability of latest medical technologies and accreditations.

The draft plan said that the Ministry of Tourism has documented the vast potential of Medical Value Travel (MVT) and has been actively working on promotion and development of medical tourism.
