As India recently resumed scheduled international travel, more and more people are looking forward to travelling. If you are also thinking on the similar lines, here are the latest countries that are all set to open for travel from April with lesser restrictions in place.
Thailand
Thailand is all set to reopen its borders for Indian tourists, and starting from April 1, travellers will no longer require a pre-departure COVID test, issued within 72 hours of boarding a flight, to gain entry to the country. However, do note that they will still need to undergo an RT-PCR test upon arrival, as well as undergo an antigen test on day five.
South Korea
South Korea is all set to make travel easier for international tourists from April 1. From then on, those who are fully vaccinated and registered their vaccination history with South Korea’s Q-Code website, will be able to visit the country without a seven-day quarantine period, and will not be required to undergo quarantine. However, if more than 180 days have passed since a traveller has been vaccinated, they will require a booster shot to be considered fully vaccinated.
Canada
The Government of Canada recently announced that effective April 1, 2022, fully vaccinated travellers will not be required to provide a pre-entry COVID-19 test result to visit Canada by land, air, or water. However, travellers entering Canada from any other country, and who qualify as fully vaccinated, still need to undergo a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival if they are selected for mandatory random testing.
Hong Kong
As per the reports, Hong Kong is all set to resume international flight operations from nine countries, including the United States, France, United Kingdom, and India, from April 1. Plus, the mandatory hotel quarantine period for incoming travellers would also be reduced to seven days from 14.
Apart from the negative COVID test required to enter Hong Kong, travellers would also need to undergo a COVID test at the airport before heading for hotel quarantine.
Italy
Italy will be scrapping the digital Green Pass, as well as its state of emergency on March 31. So starting April, Italy will be easing a lot of travel rules to facilitate entry of visitors. This move comes just weeks after Italy announced dropping of pre-arrival testing requirements for vaccinated travellers, so as to simplify their entry to the country by just providing proof that they have been vaccinated within nine months or have already received a booster shot.
Malaysia
Malaysia is all geared up to reopen its borders for international tourists from April 1. Referring to this, Malaysia Government recently made an announcement that it’s finally ready to welcome fully vaccinated tourists as the nation has managed to reach the endemic stage of COVID. With this step, the country has also joined the list of nations that are set to ease COVID-19 travel restrictions and restart tourism.
Singapore
Singapore will also relax entry rules from April 1. As per the reports, it will from then have no vaccinated travel lane requirements as well. Therefore, all fully vaccinated passengers will only need to take pre-departure tests and meet all the prevailing visa requirements, but they will no longer have to undergo quarantine or on-arrival testing.
